I had a rather unpleasant experience with Binance 2 years ago after I lost access to google's authenticator from old phone. But I don't look for 2fa everywhere I go.
#Bitwarden tutorial password
I just have one main password that I made myself a decade ago which is beyond what bitwarden suggests by default.I just use 2 email ids (main & secondary) everywhere and keep my mailbox tidy as if they are physical mailboxes I used to use the "hide my email" feature (burner email) from iCloud but I don't use anymore.Let me know if I should be doing anything else. I exported the vault in a json file today and kept it on my google drive, after seeing posts about people losing data.Is there any potential issue with autofilling? I was using clrl-shift-l but lately I enabled the autofill. I deleted the standalone apps and using solely the browser extension.I'll try and address each of the points in simple words that I had to tell myself to understand. I like to believe that I've always had a reasonable amount of online safety features in place. I think I understand what s2odin said about being more mindful about security rather than depending solely on a password manager. The amount of jargon and technical terms u/s2odin and you used in these posts took me a while to understand looking each one up on google. Look around and see if there is more you can come up with.
#Bitwarden tutorial drivers
There are lots of things besides passwords that can go in your vault, including a picture of your drivers license, a picture of your passport, an immunization record, and your health insurance cards. A perfect password manager will not defend you against malware or a shoulder surfer. Keep in mind that a password manager does not replace good opsec.
#Bitwarden tutorial full
A full periodic backup should be your north star. You should minimally have an "emergency kit", which has your Bitwarden email, master password, and recovery code.It is imperative you save these and have a plan to retrieve those for disaster recovery. When a site offers strong 2FA, they give you "recovery codes" in case your phone dies or your Yubikey is lost.TOTP (the "authenticator app") is a close second. Enable 2FA for EVERY site that supports it.
